It's been done so many times and referenced in many different ways.....but I wanted to see it again. Kon Ichikawa's version is truly magnificent. The attention to detail in Japanese architecture kept me glued to the screen and the way in which the story was told made me truly feel like I was watching a legendary manga novel live.
